What to see?

There is plenty to visit in Vila-real! A tour full of monuments can begin with the 18th century Archpriestly Church of San Jaime Apóstol, a magnificent neoclassical temple in the heart of the city. Another stop is the 13th century city walls of Vila-real, of which part of the wall remains, the so-called "Torre Motxa".

The Plaza Jaime I El Conquistador is an arcaded square that is a living example of the medieval architecture of the city, you are sure to get some great photos here! We continue to the Monastery of San Pascual Bailón, which has the largest bell in the world, a magnificent carillon and the sarcophagus and former cell of the saint, patron saint of Vila-real. It is a tradition to get the typical "cordonet" talisman, so don't forget it! The Convent of El Carmen could also be on your list.

The plans in Vila-real will take you away from the centre to find the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Gracia, built between the 16th and 18th centuries and next to the beautiful natural spot of El Termet. This place, together with the Calduch Botanical Route, forms part of the Protected Landscape of the Desembocadura del Riu Millars, and you'll love spending a few hours touring such natural beauty! You can also visit the Santa Quiteria Bridge or Roman Bridge over the river Mijares between Almassora and Vila-Real.

If you fancy an exhibition during your visit to Vila-real, don't miss the Museu de la Ciutat Casa de Polo, the city's museum, with important pictorial works. You will also be interested in the El Convent art space, with innovative artistic proposals in different formats.

As for the festive calendar, make a note of the Fiestas de San Pascual de Vila-real in May, full of traditions, the Fira de Santa Caterina at the end of November or its magnificent Easter Week. Don't miss this great city!
