Hotels in the group on the Costa Blanca invite their guests to make voluntary donations to the organisation’s international programmes, supporting initiatives with real impact such as access to safe drinking water or childhood vaccination.
Magic Hotel Group, a hotel group based in Benidorm, has announced its inclusion in the UNICEF Spain “Child Friendly Hotels” programme, joining a network of tourism sector companies committed to defending and promoting children’s rights worldwide.
This collaboration forms part of Magic Planet, the group’s corporate social responsibility philosophy, aimed at giving back to society and creating a genuine positive impact, with particular focus on the protection and wellbeing of children. From now on, guests who book or stay at most Magic Hotel Group hotels on the Costa Blanca will be able to make a voluntary contribution to UNICEF Spain from just €1, directly supporting its international programmes for the most vulnerable children.
Through this initiative, Magic Hotel Group expects to generate an impact equivalent, for example, to providing safe drinking water for one month to nearly 21,000 children, or contributing to polio vaccination for around 45,000 children. This demonstrates how small individual contributions, when shared, can be transformed into real opportunities for children.
Representatives from Magic Hotel Group and UNICEF Spain attended the signing of the agreement, highlighting the transformative potential of the tourism sector — not only as an economic driver, but also as a key agent in advancing the rights of children and adolescents.
“In a sector that represents nearly 13% of Spain’s GDP, tourism has enormous potential to generate positive impact,” said Javier García, Vice President of Magic Hotel Group. “That relevance also brings a clear responsibility: to work towards ensuring our hotels and resorts are safe, protective spaces, free from any form of violence against children.”
Through the Child Friendly Hotels programme, Magic Hotel Group will support UNICEF initiatives aimed at saving lives, protecting and empowering children in vulnerable situations around the world. These programmes address key areas such as survival, nutrition, health, education, protection and hygiene, both in humanitarian emergencies and in stable contexts.
This support is especially significant in a global context where 1.2 billion children live in poverty, 35 million suffer from acute malnutrition, and one in four children worldwide lives in conflict zones or has been forced to flee from them.
As part of its commitment to children, Magic Hotel Group also joins the mission of UNICEF Spain’s Child Friendly Hotels programme to promote safe and protective tourism environments for children and adolescents. In this regard, the group will work to integrate a child rights perspective into its management model and its own facilities, ensuring that its hotels are environments free from violence, exploitation and child abuse.
In addition, Magic Hotel Group will adopt and promote international best practices such as The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism, supported by UNICEF and the World Tourism Organization.
With this incorporation, Magic Hotel Group joins more than 120 establishments across Spain that are already part of the Child Friendly Hotels programme, helping to promote more responsible, conscious and people-centred tourism, while offering guests the opportunity to take an active role in this social commitment.
Magic Hotel Group is a family-owned hotel group with a diverse portfolio that includes themed hotels, family resorts, wellness spaces and urban accommodation on the Costa Blanca and in other destinations across the Valencian Community.
